"Won't be allowed to participate, without any reason": Russia complains about the Olympic champion's suspension from the Olympics

Sadulayev did not participate in the 2024 Olympics qualifiers

Arsen Fadzaev, First Vice President of the Russian Wrestling Federation, complained about the lack of admission to the Olympic Games for two-time winner Abdulrashid Sadulayev. The representative of the aggressor country noted that there were allegedly no reasons for sanctions against the athlete.

Fadzayev said this in an interview with the propaganda TV channel Match TV. According to the official, Sadulayev, who was not allowed to participate in the Olympic qualifying tournament in Baku, is in a difficult situation and still hopes to be admitted to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

"He is in a very difficult situation, a two-time Olympic champion, a world leader, but he is told that he will not be allowed to participate, without any reason. Sadulayev did not raise any unnecessary questions, he behaved adequately, prepared for the Olympics. I want him to participate and fight like the other guys. For example, Sidakov, who has been showing great wrestling for the past few years. He demolishes all the stars of wrestling: Iranians, Americans," Arsen Fadzaev said.

As a reminder, Sadulayev was recognized as not meeting the neutral status. In March 2022, he took part in a rally in support of the war against Ukraine in Luzhniki. Earlier, the Russian was not allowed to enter Romania for the European Championships, having been turned away at the Bucharest airport. Border guards questioned the authenticity of the wrestler's Schengen visa.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili lashed out at the IOC, calling the organization "a bunch of sectarians, scoundrels, fraudsters."
