Usyk may fight Wilder

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) may fight American Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) in his next fight. This will happen if the British Daniel Dubois (19-0, 18 KOs) is not ready to fight the Ukrainian, whose mandatory challenger for the belt was appointed by the World Boxing Association (WBA).

This was reported by journalist and insider Dan Rafael on his Twitter page. According to him, the WBA intends to schedule Usyk a fight with Wilder, who is ranked first in the organisation's rankings. It is emphasised that it will be difficult for Dubois to claim success in a fight against Oleksandr, as Daniel suffered a cruciate ligament tear in his last fight.

It is worth noting that the WBA has scheduled a promotional auction for the Usyk-Dubois fight for May 25. And the British contender is rumoured to have decided to refuse the services of his coach.

It is worth noting that in December, Saudi Arabia intends to organise the fights Oleksandr Usyk - Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) - Deontay Wilder on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. The total amount will be at least $250 million. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.

In turn, Skill Challenge Entertainment promoter Amer Abdallah confirmed that the organisers in Saudi Arabia already have a date for Usyk's fight with Fury and Joshua's fight with Wilder. He also announced the threat of disqualification of participants in the upcoming tournament.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Oleksandr Usyk expressed confidence that his fight with Tyson Fury would definitely take place. For his part, the Gypsy King confirmed these words of the Ukrainian.
