Stepanova made a vile call

Russian skier Veronika Stepanova, whose intelligence has been compared by fans to a washing machine, has called on her compatriots to organize provocations at the 2024 Olympics. The winner of the Beijing 2022 Games opposed the participation of Russian athletes in the so-called neutral status competitions in France, but named a condition that would change her attitude to the boycott.

Stepanova wrote about this in her column for the website of the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime noted that Russians should not care about the rules of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), forgetting about the threat of immediate disqualification.

"The only thing that can change my mind is if one of our athletes in Paris makes a real show of it - coming out with the Russian flag and emblem, spitting on all the IOC bans. "Provocation," international sports officials will say. But who cares what they say! We must fight idiocy. Restrictions on the participation of Russian athletes are both the greatest stupidity and the greatest injustice in sports in recent times," Stepanova, 23, said in a patriotic frenzy.

Earlier, IOC President Thomas Bach said that Russian athletes would face severe sanctions if they display the symbols of the aggressor country or symbols of war at the Paris Olympics. These words of the official caused anger in Russia.

The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Representatives of the Russian Federation are allowed to compete in the so-called neutral status and only in individual events.

We would like to point out that Russia has started a real persecution of "neutral athletes". For example, the famous swimmer Yulia Yefimova was called an American for wanting to compete in the 2024 Olympics in a neutral status. In turn, athlete Ulyana Batashova was dismissed from the national team and deprived of financial support. Prior to that, coach Irina Vyatchanina complained that athletes in the Russian Federation are forced to "hide like ostriches in the sand."

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, legendary hockey goalkeeper Dominik Hasek criticized the IOC for allowing Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Olympics.
