"Ukrainians have been brainwashed". Povetkin made a statement about the fight of the "Russian man" Usyk with Fury

Famous Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin said that in the fight between WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF titles holder Alexander Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) he will support Usyk because he is a "Russian man". In an interview with Match TV propagandists, Povetkin explained that Alexander was simply "brainwashed."

"No matter what, I'll be rooting for him [Usyk - ed. Maybe he doesn't realize it, but he is a Russian person. They [Ukrainians - ed.] don't realize it themselves, they've been brainwashed. In general, I will be rooting for him," said the Russian Knight.

When assessing the fight itself, Povetkin could not make a definite prediction.

"This is not an easy fight. Alexander may be more technical, but Fury is an awkward, clumsy and spirited boxer. And, of course, he's bigger than Usyk. And his size will play into Fury's hands," the Russian boxer summarized.
