Usyk and Dubois meet in Warsaw

Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and British Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) met each other for the first time before their fight on 26 August. Our unified world heavyweight champion and the challenger for his belts had a duel of views during a press conference in Warsaw.

The fighters came face to face and looked each other calmly in the eye for about 30 seconds, after which they turned towards the photographers. The duel ended with a standing ovation for the opponents, and the chant "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!".

Before that, the Ukrainian champion expressed his delight at the opportunity to box in Poland. He thanked the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and our country's allies for their support.

"First of all, I want to thank the guys who are now defending our country, because thanks to them we can perform abroad and give them a little emotional happiness. Ukrainian Armed Forced! I'm very happy to be back in Poland because this is where my championship began. I would like to thank the Polish people for the support they are giving to Ukraine," said the boxer.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Dubois' promoter Frank Warren called Oleksandr Usyk's fee for the fight on 26 August in Wroclaw "ridiculous".
