Ukraine's third-ranked tennis player in Thailand provokes hysteria in the Russian media. Video
Ukraine's third-ranked Dayana Yastremska (WTA #35) had a training session with 15-year-old Russian tennis player Yegor Navrazidi. The episode took place in Thailand before the start of the WTA 500 tournament in Hua Hin.
Yegor Navrazidi is a Russian junior ranked 1201 in the ITF rankings. Egor trains at the academy of the French coach Patrick Muratoglu, who is known for working with various tennis stars.
It was Muratoglu who posted the video of the sparring between Yastremska and Navradidi. Navradidi posted a Russian flag on his social media profile.
In 2020, he and his parents were vacationing in the occupied Crimea.
Yastremska's action did not go unnoticed by Russian propagandists. The caption to the video accused the Ukrainian of inconsistency, reminding her of her refusal to shake hands with Russian tennis players at tournaments.
It should be noted that Dayana finished her performance in Hua Hin after the first round. The 24-year-old from Odesa sensationally lost to Japanese Mae Hontama (WTA #130) - 6(4):7, 5:7.
As OBOZ.UA reported, earlier Yastremska made a splash on Instagram with her appearance in Thailand. The athlete walked around Hua Hin in the evening in a short white skirt and top, collecting admiring glances from passers-by.
