Lomachenko and Haney to fight on May 20

Ukrainian boxing fans risk not seeing the fight for the title of absolute world lightweight champion between Vasyl Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) and Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs). The fight will take place on May 20 in Las Vegas, USA, and it is already known that it will not be broadcast on Megogo.

The show will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. OBOZREVATEL will provide a live stream of the Lomachenko-Haney fight. The estimated start time is 6:00 am on Sunday, May 21, Kyiv time.

On its Instagram page, Megogo's sports editorial team answered a question from a fan about the fight: "Megogo media service will not be broadcasting the fight for the lightweight title between Vasyl Lomachenko and Devin Haney."

A boxing fan called on the platform to organise a pay-per-view (PPV) broadcast of a boxing night. "This is a very strange decision. You have always broadcast Top Rank boxing nights. Make a PPV broadcast, there are plenty of fans who will pay money. I think you can charge a lot for such a fight. We'd rather pay Megogo than buy a broadcast on ESPN," he said.

Recall that Haney promised to take the Ukrainian apart. He demanded that experts and fans not talk about Vasyl's age.

Earlier, Lomachenko said that he would no longer be able to move up to a heavier weight class. The Ukrainian also called himself undefeated, despite two defeats in the professional ring. Haney called these words of Vasyl's nonsense.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, bookmakers have changed the odds for the fight between Vasyl Lomachenko and Devin Haney.
