"Tyson is not an idiot": Fury's team revealed two moles before the fight with Usyk
Former world heavyweight champion Johnny Nelson has revealed the moles in Tyson Fury's (34-0-1, 24 KOs) team that inform the Gypsy King's preparations for a fight with Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). The ex-boxer, who predicted last year that the Briton would refuse to fight the Ukrainian on February 17, named the Manchester native's father and brother.
Nelson said this in an interview with the talkSPORT talkBOXING program. According to Johnny, Fury's relatives did not share any secret information with him, and their public statements helped him to draw certain conclusions about Tyson's readiness.
"You want to know who the mole is? His father and his brother are the moles. I didn't say anything that John or Shane Fury didn't say. Listen to what they said, how they commented on his camp. They don't like what's going on around Tyson. But the people around Fury are saying what he wants to hear to stay on the payroll. Tyson Fury is not an idiot, but he is the head of a dragon. He needs to listen to his father and brother. They tell the truth, they are the moles," Nelson said.
Before that, Tyson promised to beat Usyk easily and also mentioned the war in Ukraine. In turn, Oleksandr told what he would do if the Briton refused to enter the ring on May 18.
In addition, the World Boxing Council (WBC) announced its intention to change the rules of boxing for the sake of the Usyk-Fury fight. And British fans suddenly began to give up on the Ukrainian's chances of winning.
The legendary Lennox Lewis also spoke about the fight, urging not to write off the Ukrainian. In addition, Oleksandr and Tyson's fees for the fight were announced.
Former world middleweight champion Carl Froch has called into question the holding of the Usyk-Fury fight. And promoter Eddie Hearn intends to disrupt the rematch between the Ukrainian and the Briton.
In turn, former heavyweight world champion Steve Cunningham noted that Tyson faces disqualification in the fight with Oleksandr. It also became known that a Russian who fought for the Russian Armed Forces will take part in the Usyk-Fury show.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk spoke about the problem with holding the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury on May 18. And the British representative Bob Arum has already started talking about the boxer's possible refusal to rematch.
