"To destroy him": unbeaten superstars threatened Usyk

Undefeated Croatian super featherweight Filip Hrgovic (16-0, 13 KOs) has promised to take the belt away from unified division champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). The 31-year-old Zagreb native is looking forward to being officially named the mandatory challenger for the Ukrainian's International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles.
Hrgovic stated this in an interview with iFL TV YouTube channel. The bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games emphasized that the success to victory in the fight against Usyk will be the powerful bodywork of the Ukrainian champion, as well as the fact that he is not inferior in terms of speed.
"I think I have the best qualities to beat Usyk because I'm fast enough as a super featherweight, I can throw a lot of punches. He won't be able to knock me out. I'm a powerful puncher. I think I have enough stamina to throw a lot of punches. When Daniel Dubois used his hands, he gave Usyk trouble. Usyk doesn't like that. Usik needs to be hit to the body. We need to come out, make him stagger and destroy him," Hrgovic said.
Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois (19-2, 18 KOs) on August 26. The team of the British boxer filed an appeal against the result of the fight. The media published the text of the protest, in which referee Louis Pabon was accused of depriving Dubois of the championship belt. In turn, Usyk's manager Egis Klimas mocked the challenger's side.
The fight itself ended in the 9th round when the Briton missed a heavy blow to the head. In total, Oleksandr threw 88 punches to the body and head of his opponent.
The British boxer hit our compatriot below the belt in the 5th round. Some time later there was video evidence that Dubois hit Usyk in the forbidden zone on purpose.
Usyk's catman Anber later came to the Sky Sports studio, where he analyzed this episode, citing undeniable facts of foul play. The World Boxing Association (WBA) commented on the scandal in the fight between Oleksandr and Daniel. The World Boxing Council (WBC) made a similar move.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, one of the Russian propaganda media decided to hurt Oleksandr Usyk in a quite ridiculous manner, remembering the "deprivation" of the Ukrainian of the championship belt.
In addition, the legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr. found a "vulnerability" of the Ukrainian champion. Former world champion in the first welterweight Paul Malignaggi called the behavior of Daniel Dubois a disgrace.
