The unbeaten former world champion challenged Lomachenko
Former outright world champion Shakur Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs) would like to fight Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs). The 25-year-old Newark native was impressed with the way the Ukrainian fought the undefeated Devin Haney.
In case a fight with Lomachenko can't be arranged right away, Stevenson has someone to fight.
"Jamein Ortiz says really crazy things. I'd like to put him in his place. But if I get a chance to fight Lomachenko next time, I'll take it. Loma obviously isn't done yet and he's not an old forgotten fighter. I don't want to wait another year. He's turned 36 or 37 years old. He's getting older every year. I'd like him to be in the same shape as he was when he fought Devin. If Vasily insists that he needs another fight in between, then I'll beat the crap out of Jamein Ortiz. He doesn't know what he's getting himself into." - boxingnews24.com quoted Stevenson as saying.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Stevenson previously admitted that he has changed his mind about the outcome of the fight between Devin Haney.
Recall that the lightweight fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena Haney - Lomachenko went all 12 rounds and ended with a unanimous decision of the judges 116-112, 115-113, 115-113 in favor of the American. It should be noted that the judges' notes, which were published after the fight, caused a heated debate among experts and fans.
Lomachenko's team announced that they are filing a protest against the result of the fight. In addition, the fight's punching stats confirm that the Ukrainian won at least five rounds.
