"The Ukrainian side will not let": Russian gymnastics demanded "support and protection" at the 2024 Olympics
The head of the Russian Gymnastics Federation (RGF), Vasily Titov, has accused the International Olympic Committee (IOC) of failing to provide security for Russian athletes at the 2024 Olympic Games. The Vladimir Putin regime's henchman also complained about provocations allegedly being prepared by Ukrainians.
Titov said this in an interview with the R-Sport propaganda news agency. The head of the FSB's public council also demanded that France hospitably and joyfully welcome Russian athletes, "who, despite all the restrictions, decided to go and try their luck in sports."
"There are great risks associated with the possibility of provocations. I do not doubt for a second that the Ukrainian side will not let this happen. At the same time, international federations completely refuse any support and protection of these athletes. The IOC assumes some responsibilities, but they are not very clear either. The mayor of Paris says that Russian athletes will not be welcome in France, what else can I say? Is this French hospitality? Is this hospitality to those people who, despite all the restrictions, decided to go and try their luck in sports?" Titov was senselessly indignant.
Prior to that, the president of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation accused Ukrainians of the fact that many athletes from Russia failed to obtain the so-called status to participate in the Olympic Games.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Iryna Viner, called neutral Russian athletes a "team of homeless people." And Seoul-88 champion Mikhail Mamiashvili called the IOC "a bunch of sectarians, scoundrels, and fraudsters."
