Chygrynskyi returns to Shakhtar

Former Ukraine international Dmytro Chygrynskyi has returned to Shakhtar Donetsk for the second time. The 36-year-old central defender, who was the only one of our compatriots to play for Catalan side Barcelona, signed a contract with the Miners until the end of June 2024.

This is reported by the official website of the Donetsk club. Chygrynskyi is a pupil of Shakhtar, where he made his debut in 2004. Five years later, he moved to Catalan side Barcelona for 25 million euros and won the Spanish championship with the Blaugrana.

After spending only one season at Barca, the defender returned to Shakhtar, who paid €15 million for the player. For the next five seasons, Chygrynskyi was treated more than he played, and in 2015 he left for Dnipro, and then went to Greece, where he played for AEK and Ionikos.

Dmytro played 29 matches for the Ukrainian national team, and with the youth team he became the 2006 European vice-champion.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Artem Dovbyk, a striker for the Ukrainian national team and Dnipro-1, will become a player for Spanish side Girona.
