Elena Välbe, President of the Russian Cross-Country Ski Federation (ROCF), has called the 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place from July 26 to August 11, a miserable affair. At the time of publication of the news, only 15 athletes from the Russian Federation have been admitted to the Games in Paris in neutral status.

Välbe is very happy that Russia refused to show the Olympics in France.

"It seems to me that it will be some kind of poverty, not the Olympics. I will not be watching the performances of Russian athletes. I am not discussing or condemning anyone, participation is a personal matter for each person. The athletes must have had some motives for making this decision. I will not watch the Olympics," said the 56-year-old three-time Olympic champion.

In the comments section, Russian fans ridiculed the three-time Olympic champion's remarks.

"It's time for Välbe to lead Putin's Squad, wear the same shirt and shout slogans like 'Thank God we live in Russia, not America! And let someone else lead the ski federation," users note.

Fans are reminded of what actually turned out to be squalor, alluding to the Friendship Games that had to be postponed and the BRICS Games that failed.

It should be noted that the fact that there is no interest in the 2024 Games due to the non-participation of Russians was refuted by record-breaking statistics on ticket sales for the Olympics.
