Russian boxing legend hints at possible conspiracy brewing around Usyk-Fury rematch
Former absolute world welterweight champion Konstantin Tszyu expressed confidence that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will not be allowed to defeat Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) in the upcoming rematch. According to the Russian, the organizers want another fight simply for financial gain.
Tszyu said this in an interview with the propaganda publication Sport-Express. The legendary athlete noted that unbelievable sums will be at stake for the third fight between Usyk and Fury, which will be distributed between the boxers themselves (their highest fees) and promoters.
"Here is what will happen after Fury's fight with Usyk: Fury will win and there will be a third fight. A fight for a lot of money. But I really don't want it to be part of this business. There will be a trilogy," Tszyu said.
In the first fight, Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute heavyweight champion.
