Russia offered to return to UEFA tournaments: what Shevchenko did in response
Makis Gagatsis, President of the Greek Football Federation, proposed to return Russian youth and youth teams to international tournaments. The official motivated this with the Kremlin's propaganda narrative that "children should not suffer from politics."

However, the president of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), Andriy Shevchenko, used his status to create a powerful coalition against representatives of the aggressor country, which blocked these attempts to legalize Russians.
