Peskov said world sport is suffering because of Russia's suspension

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has expressed the ridiculous idea that the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions is harmful to the Olympic movement. The henchman of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin demanded that representatives of the aggressor country be allowed to participate in the 2024 Games in Paris without any restrictions.

Peskov said this in a comment to the RIA Novosti propaganda news agency. He criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the requirements for admission of Russians, which allegedly affects the entire world of sports.

"As for all these restrictions on the Olympic movement. In the end, the idea of Olympism itself will suffer and is already suffering from them. And, of course, this will not have a positive impact on the future of the Olympic movement, so we hope that reason will prevail, the idea of Olympism will win, and we will reintegrate into the Olympic family again," Putin's spokesman said.

Earlier, two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Ishmuratova called the fact that Russian athletes agreed to travel to Paris 2024 under a neutral flag a betrayal.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, president of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), accused Ukraine of setting conditions for the admission of Russian athletes to international competitions and the 2024 Games in Paris.
