"Our country is developing": Russian biathlete calls Europeans zombies due to suspension
Famous Russian biathlete Olga Zaitseva has called Europeans real zombies because of the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions. The two-time Olympic champion in relay races was outraged by the conditions of admission of representatives of the aggressor country to the 2024 Games in Paris.
Zaitseva said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency TASS. The former athlete, who was banned for life by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for doping, called the Russians "the best and strongest."
"I always believe in good things and hope that European minds will understand, take off their 'zombie hats' and invite all Russian athletes to participate in the Olympic Games. But realistically speaking, this may not happen, so I would like to wish all the athletes to stay strong, accept it, be brave, and continue to play sports in Russia. Our country is developing, we will always have strong athletes, and when a miracle happens and we go to international competitions, we will still be the best and strongest," Zaitseva said.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov demanded that the IOC ignore Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and not be interested in the topic at all.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matitsyn unexpectedly spoke out against the boycott of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris by Russian athletes.
