No rematch: It became known what will happen to the winner of the Usyk-Dubois fight
The winner of the confrontation between Ukrainian WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and British boxer Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) will fight against Tyson Fury, Frank Warren said. According to the promoter, Usyk and Dubois will not have a rematch because it is a mandatory title defense.
"Whoever wins will challenge Fury in a unification bout. Regardless of who wins, the fight for the absolute world heavyweight title will take place in early 2024," Warren said.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Usyk and Dubois will fight at the Tarczynski Arena stadium on Saturday, August 26. It has already become known where and how you can watch this fight in Ukraine.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Fury gave a tough ultimatum to Usyk's team on March 10. The native of Manchester demanded 70% of the fee for the fight and also stated that he would add one percent for each day before signing the contract.
Oleksandr agreed to the Briton's proposal with a pro-Ukrainian demand.
In response, Tyson came up with a new condition, offering our compatriot to remove the rematch clause from the contract for the bout for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion and change the distribution of the fee.
Usyk could not stand such humiliation and refused to indulge Tyson's whims. Fury was outraged by this, posting a minute-long video that contained solid swear words.
