"Next": Usyk reacts for the first time to the announcement of the fight with Fury
For the first time, unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) broke his silence after announcing a fight with Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) for the title of absolute world champion. Our compatriot called the upcoming historic fight for the four belts of the division his next dance.
Usyk posted the video on his Instagram page. The 35-year-old native of Simferopol showed an excerpt of a documentary about the fight against Daniel Dubois (19-2, 18 KOs), thanks to which he defended his titles and advanced to a confrontation with Fury.
"My training is going very well. We play soccer. We're dancing," Usyk said in a video he captioned "I never stop. I'm waiting for the next dance" and accompanied by the hashtag #UsykFury.
On September 29, it became known that Usyk and Fury signed a contract for a fight for the title of absolute world champion. The media found out that the fight will take place before the New Year or in January.
In addition, it became known whether a rematch between the Ukrainian and the Briton was planned. Promoter Bob Arum also announced Fury's fee for the upcoming fights.
Earlier, former world champion in two weight categories Paul Malignaggi expressed confidence that Tyson would avoid the fight. And former European Boxing Union (EBU) champion Spencer Oliver predicted Usyk's defeat in the fight against Fury.
