Legendary boxer who sold out to Russia names Lomachenko's main drawback in fight with Haney
Former world champion in five weight categories Roy Jones Jr. has made his prediction for the Lomachenko-Haney fight. The fan of dictator Vladimir Putin, who was granted Russian and LPR citizenship in 2015, noted that the anthropometric advantage of the absolute lightweight champion will play a key role in the fight.
According to the 54-year-old Jones, it will be a great fight in any case.
"Haney will try to use his physical advantage to dominate Lomachenko. Of course, he can't match him in boxing intelligence, but he's bigger, which gives him a good chance of winning," the Match TV pundits quoted Roy as saying.
The American boxing legend also recalled the situation in the fight with Teofimo Lopez.
"Lopez was able to defeat Vasyl by keeping him at a distance for most of the fight, and when he got involved, it was too late," the former world champion said.
It should be noted that a few years ago Lomachenko said that Roy Jones was his favourite boxer and idol.
