"Kind of overrated": Fury's father spoke humiliatingly about Usyk and accused him of disrupting the fight with Tyson

Tyson Fury's (33-0-1, 24 KOs) father John Fury does not consider Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) a worthy opponent for his son. He criticised our compatriot for disrupting the fight for the title of absolute world champion, which was scheduled for April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London.

Fury Sr. said this in an interview with the Stamina For Sale YouTube channel, Boxing Social reports. The father of the British champion added that Usyk allegedly refused to fight the Gypsy King, as Tyson is called, citing a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, where they want to hold a grand evening with the participation of top heavyweight boxers.

"Usyk is a kind of overrated light heavyweight. Tyson offered him the biggest fee and a fight at Wembley. This is Usyk's biggest fee to date. And what happened next? He was tempted by Saudi money, which they thought would shift the blame onto Tyson. All Usyk was fighting for was a few million, but suddenly the Saudis came with a trough full of dollars. So they decided it was better to get punched in the face for 50 million rather than fight in Britain. Tyson can beat Usyk with one hand," said John Fury.

Earlier, Fury Sr. named the reason for the disruption of Tyson's fight with Usyk on April 29. As a reminder, the top promoters are preparing to hold a boxing night in December, during which Usyk will fight Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) will fight Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs).
