"Jerks". Russia throws a tantrum in response to IOC's decision to "kick Russia out with a rag"
Honorary President of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachev was outraged by the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding Russians. The IOC advised all international federations to allow athletes from Russia to participate in international competitions in a neutral status.
This recommendation does not apply to representatives of team sports, representatives of law enforcement agencies and those who supported the war in Ukraine.
"Now the IOC can make any decision that this famous jerk Zelenskyy or other people who act so cruelly can make. It's these jerks who are stopping all world sport because all members of the Russian team are world champions and Olympic champions," Tyagachev told RIA Novosti propagandists.
The Honorary President of the ROC believes that Russia should not be humiliated in this way.
"That's why we will protest and fight in every way possible, to protect the athletes who stand for the armed forces. All the presidents who are members of the Russian Olympic Committee have unequivocally said that this is humiliation. That is why we are not making a decision that athletes related to the armed forces will not participate in the Olympics," Tyagachev added.
In the comments section, Russian fans started a real harassment campaign against Tyagachev, outraged by his rhetoric.
"Enough with the stupid fantasies of 'stopping all world sport' - it's not the same as throwing you out with rags, and after such remarks, why be surprised and why are you there? Stay at home and take part in the Spartakiad," the fans wrote.
Users mockingly suggest that if you insult the IOC many times, it will definitely help lift the ban from Russia.
"If you constantly call the IOC jerks, it will definitely help - they will crawl on their knees. But it's not for sure," the fans mock.
Sports fans from the Russian Federation wonder if everyone in the West is a "jerk", then why do Russian athletes and officials want to go there so badly?
"The question is, why compete with jerks? Compete among the smart ones at home," the fans say.
Many people are surprised by the phrase "...all members of the Russian team are world and Olympic champions".
