It became known how Khabib reacted to Usyk's victory over Fury

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was delighted with Oleksandr Usyk's (22-0, 14 KOs) victory over Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). The Russian was especially impressed with the ninth round of the fight on May 18, during which the Ukrainian knocked his opponent out.

American trainer Javier Mendez, Nurmagomedov's mentor, said this in an interview with the propaganda publication Sport-Express. According to the expert, the fight between Usyk and Fury was fascinating and it was not clear who would eventually win until the end.

"A very competitive fight. One of those fights where nothing is clear until the end. Tyson was in the game until the final bell. At first, Usyk led, then Fury added, and only after a knockdown in the 9th round did the fight go in Usyk's direction. Khabib was very happy in the ninth round. Khabib believed in Usyk, but when in the middle of the fight Fury started punching Usyk in the body, Khabib said: "Uh-oh-oh". After the fight, Khabib just said it was a fantastic fight," Mendez said.

Earlier, former world champion Carl Froch named the main culprit behind Tyson's defeat of Oleksandr. He also expressed confidence that Usyk should end his career. And Fury's team spoke about depriving the Ukrainian of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt.

Fury has officially activated the rematch clause with Usyk. Bookmakers have already started accepting bets on the fight. They also disclosed the agreement under which the Ukrainian will lose the title of absolute champion.

Former boxer David Haye predicted that there will be no rematch between the Ukrainian and Fury. His compatriot Dereck Chisora started rumors that Oleksandr would return to the heavyweight division.
