"Inhumane conditions": Russians complain that they are being asked to "sell their homeland" for the 2024 Olympics
Tarasova condemns the IOC

Famous figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova has accused the International Olympic Committee (IOC) of "inhumane conditions" for Russian athletes at the 2024 Games in Paris. The former athlete did not call for a complete boycott of the competition by Russian athletes.

Tarasova said this in a commentary to the propaganda TV channel Match TV. An accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime and an ardent fan of the war in Ukraine, she complained that Russians are being asked to "sell their homeland" to participate in this year's Olympic Games.

"I have been saying these words for a long time. We need to leave. But now we are being put under inhuman conditions. We have to sell our homeland to participate in the Olympics. I do not agree with this. The decision should be left to the athletes and their coaches. If they decide to go, let them go. The main thing is not to ban them," Tarasova said.

Fans of Ukraine call for an end to the war.

The IOC has banned Russian and Belarusian athletes not only from using national symbols in Paris, but also from participating in the opening ceremony. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov immediately accused the IOC of infringing on the rights of Russian athletes.

In turn, IOC President Thomas Bach spoke out against the so-called collective responsibility of Russian athletes for the war in Ukraine. Russia itself has already started harassing athletes who agree to go to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status.
