Usyk - Dubois fight to take place on 26 August

The British boxer Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) was enthusiastic about the official announcement of his fight against unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). The World Boxing Association (WBA) challenger expressed confidence that he would take the belts from the Ukrainian.

Dubois said this in a comment to the press service of K2 Promotions, the organiser of the fight. The 25-year-old London native, nicknamed Dynamite, noted that he has great respect for his future opponent, but on 26 August he is going to shock the world.

"I'm looking forward to the moment when I can challenge Oleksandr Usyk and I'm confident that I will return to the UK with the belts. He's a great fighter and I respect him, but now it's my time. I'm going to shock the world and show people how good Daniel Dubois really is in the ring," said the Briton.

It should be noted that the Usyk-Dubois fight will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, and will be the first for the Ukrainian after his victory over Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) last August.

If Usyk successfully defends the WBA belt, he expects to fight Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. Saudi Arabia intended to organise the fights between Usyk and Fury and Joshua and Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.

Later, Fury unexpectedly changed his rhetoric in his statements about Usyk, wishing him good luck. And former world champion Johnny Nelson blasted the British champion for fighting the Ukrainian. For his part, the legendary Hasim Rahman expressed confidence that Usyk would knock out Fury.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Fury's promoter Frank Warren announced that the Briton would not fight Usyk in Saudi Arabia in December this year. This decision by the Gypsy King shocked former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew.
