"If he doesn't box out..." Usyk categorically spoke about the disruption of the rematch with Fury
Former absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) is not worried that Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) may refuse to rematch. According to our compatriot, he is already starting to prepare for the fight on December 21, and in case of its disruption, all the risks will fall on the British.
Usyk said this in an interview with rtfight.com. The 37-year-old boxer noted that he had carefully studied the first fight on May 18 and was fully focused on preparing for the rematch, not paying attention to the behavior of his opponent, who may have surprises in the second fight.
"We are going to the training camp. I learned a lot from the last fight. Many of the things I saw in the fight, I didn't see them on TV. We will prepare even better and, God willing, we will show our form again. I'm not worried that Tyson will try to withdraw from the fight. I like the fact that we are preparing for December 21. It's a good date, a good month. If he doesn't box on December 21, he will lose dividends and money. He will also lose his manhood. I will do everything to be in my best shape again. Is anything unexpected for Fury? We are preparing sweets, cakes, everything for our friend. We will treat him to delicious cakes and delicious hugs," Usyk said.
We would like to remind you that in the first fight, Usyk defeated Fury by a split decision 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
A month after the fight on May 18, the Ukrainian was forced to give up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which will be fought for by Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) on September 21.
Later it became known that the IBF left Usyk no choice. This situation angered the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White. The Ukrainian himself commented on his decision.
Our compatriot shared his expectations for the second fight with Tyson and responded to accusations of cheating during the fight with Fury on May 18. In addition, Oleksandr told what he learned from this fight.
The legendary Volodymyr Klitschko shared his expectations for the rematch between Usyk and Fury. And ex-champion Amir Khan disagreed with the forecasts for the fight's repeat.
In addition, Russian Alexander Povetkin attributed the success of our compatriot to Russia. And former world champion Carl Froch called Usyk's title, which will be fought by Joshua and Dubois, a paper title.
