"I will go out and get drunk": Fury announces when he's going to fight Usyk
British heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) expressed confidence that his unification fight with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) will take place before the end of the year. At the same time, the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, doubts that our compatriot wants to fight him.
Fury said this in an interview with journalist Michael Benson, who quoted Tyson on his Twitter page. The World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder noted that the fight with Usyk would be a cakewalk for him and would end with an absolute championship in the division.
"I don't think anyone is afraid of anyone in a boxing match. The fight with Usyk has to happen, it has to happen this year. I just think it will be an easy job. I'll beat him up, he'll fall to the canvas, and then I'll go out and get drunk in the city centre. A fight with Joshua? I'd like that to happen... I'd like to fight Oleksandr Usyk, I'd like to fight Anthony Joshua, but I just don't think they want to fight me," Fury said.
It will be recalled that Saudi Arabia intends to organise the Usyk-Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) - Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) fights in December on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. The total amount will be at least $250 million. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.
For his part, Skill Challenge Entertainment promoter Amir Abdallah confirmed that the organisers in Saudi Arabia already have a date for Usyk's fight with Fury and Joshua's fight with Wilder. He also announced the threat of disqualification of participants in the upcoming tournament.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Tyson Fury made a rude remark at a press conference in Tenerife about Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian boxer himself spoke about the fight against the Gypsy King.
