"I saw fear": Dubois makes loud statement about meeting with Usyk
British Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) said he saw fear in the eyes of unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) during a duel of the eyes before their fight on 26 August. Dynamite, as the 25-year-old London native is known, added that he is ready to take away the belts of our compatriot.
In an interview with Seconds Out YouTube channel, Dubois shared his impressions of his first meeting with the Ukrainian boxer. The Briton stressed that he has great respect for our champion, emphasising that Usyk is a lefty. In addition, Daniel noted that he was being written off early.
"I've had a good look at him, his size and everything, and I'm ready for the challenge ahead. I'm ready to take those belts. Everyone is writing me off, I'm an outsider and all that, but time will tell and I'll take the lead. I saw the fear in his eyes. I know he's a great champion, but we're going to make history. He's a lefty, you can't disrespect that, and he's a world champion. He has proven himself in the heavyweight division," said Dubois.
If he wins, Usyk expects to fight Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. At the same time, Dubois promised to "shock the world" and knock out the Ukrainian.
Saudi Arabia intends to organise the fights Usyk - Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 2 KOs) - Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.
Later, promoter Frank Warren announced that Tyson would not fight Usyk in Saudi Arabia in December this year. This decision by the Gypsy King shocked former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the famous Russian promoter Vladimir Khryunov wished Oleksandr Usyk a defeat in the fight with Daniel Dubois.
