Hungary's foreign minister spits on Ukraine and demands Russia be allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics, calling it a step toward peace

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has spoken in favor of admitting Russian athletes to the 2024 Olympic Games. He spoke in the strains of Kremlin propaganda about sports beyond politics and expressed confidence that the participation of Russian representatives in the tournament in Paris would allegedly become a step towards ending the war in Ukraine.
Sijjarto wrote about this on his Facebook page, commenting on his conversation with International Olympic Committee (IOC) Vice President Ser Miang. The Hungarian diplomat added with pathos that his country allows coaggressors from Belarus to perform on its territory.
"The Olympics, conducted with full participation, can be of great help in military conflicts, including the peaceful resolution of the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Olympics should not be about politics but about sports and athletes, the Olympics have a real mission to create peace. We Hungarians are not only talking about the peacemaking power of sport, we are demonstrating it. We gave the opportunity to the Ukrainian women's handball team to play a World Cup qualifying match, and the Belarusian soccer team to play a European Championship qualifying match in Hungary," wrote Szijjártó.
Earlier, Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova, with words about the "peace agreement," expressed confidence that Russian athletes would be returned to international tournaments immediately after the war in Ukraine ends.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Russian fans unleashed a flood of anger at Olympic champion, traitor to Ukraine and wife of Dmitry Peskov Tatyana Navka after her words about the participation of the Russian Federation at the Olympic Games 2024 without a flag and anthem.
