Jones gave a forecast for the rematch between Usyk and Fury

Legendary American boxer Roy Jones Jr. has expressed confidence that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will win a rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). The former world champion in five weight categories noted that in the first fight, the Ukrainian boxer received clear evidence that he could knock out the Briton.

Jones, who is a fan of Vladimir Putin and was granted Russian citizenship, shared this opinion in an interview with the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel, secondsout.com reports. According to him, Fury made a huge mistake in the May 18 fight when he failed to restrain Usyk's pressure and demonstrated his insecurity and vulnerability.

"Usyk is a little guy. You must not back down in fights with them, otherwise you give them confidence. Fury gave him confidence and look what happened. So now everything will be even tougher because Usyk knows after the first fight that he can beat Fury. It may work for him, or it may work against him. But I see it this way: Usyk goes into the ring, does his job methodically, and he will beat him again," the Russian American emphasized.

In the first fight, Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.

A month after the fight, on May 18, the Ukrainian was forced to give up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which was defended by Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) on September 21, brutally knocking out Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).

Before that, Oleksandr spoke categorically about what would happen if Tyson tried to disrupt the rematch. He also shared his expectations for the second fight with Fury and responded to accusations of cheating during the May 18 fight. In addition, Oleksandr told what he learned from this fight.

The legendary Wladimir Klitschko shared his expectations from the rematch between Usyk and Fury. And ex-champion Amir Khan disagreed with the forecasts for the fight's repeat. In addition, Russian Alexander Povetkin attributed the success of our compatriot to Russia.

In turn, Russian boxing coach Andrei Ivichuk called Tyson the winner of the upcoming rematch with Oleksandr. And the Ukrainian named the only boxer he is interested in fighting after the second fight with the Briton.

In addition, Joshua answered the question of who he would like to see win the rematch between Usyk and Fury. The Briton himself named his motivation for the second fight against our compatriot. He also told us when he would start preparing for the fight.
