"He has mouths to feed": Fury unexpectedly speaks out about Usyk

British super-heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) unexpectedly changed his rhetoric in his statements about Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). The Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, said he understood the Ukrainian's desire to earn the maximum fee for the fight for the absolute title.
In an interview with Foxify Trade Twitter Spaces, Fury explained the disruption of the fight on 29 April, Boxing Scene reports. He expressed confidence that the confrontation with Usyk would take place, and Tyson himself would confidently deal with his opponent and collect all the belts of the division.
"The only reason the fight didn't take place in April is because Usyk wants more money. So I don't blame him for that because, at the end of the day, we have a short career and it's a business. It's not like "I hate Usyk" or "oh my god, Usyk didn't fight me". This is business. Usyk is waiting for a lot of money, $100 million, which he will get from the Saudis for the fight in November or whenever. So I can't be offended by him. I know he's a family man and he has mouths to feed, so I wish him luck. It's not personal, it's sport for one and business for two. But when we finally meet, I will destroy him, that's a fact," Fury said.
On 26 August, Usyk is scheduled to defend his title against Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs). In December, Saudi Arabia intends to organise the fights between Usyk and Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) and Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.
At a press conference in Tenerife, Tyson Fury recently made a rude remark about Oleksandr Usyk. He also promised to destroy the Ukrainian champion.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Oleksandr Usyk said that he was going to arrange a fight with Tyson Fury. The Ukrainian boxer also accused his British rival of lying, and then unexpectedly turned to the Gypsy King. In response, the Gypsy King's team said that Usyk was only interested in money.
