Former world champion said that there is no chance of holding the Usyk-Fury fight

Former two-time welterweight world champion Shawn Porter expressed confidence that Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) will not fight Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) despite the official announcement of the fight. The American noted that the British boxer has always avoided difficult fights.
Porter said this in an interview with the Pro Box TV YouTube channel. He emphasized that he would like to see the Ukrainian and the Briton face-off, but Fury would rather fight former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Francis Ngannou again after the October 28 fight.
"This fight will not happen. It's a fight I'd like to see, but Tyson Fury has made his way to becoming a superstar. With a status like that, he can choose who he wants to fight. I don't think there's a chance that he'll accept a fight with Oleksandr Usyk. He's not going to assert his superiority as the world's elite heavyweight, which is what happens almost always. He takes part in superstar fights. The fight with Ngannou is not a boxing fight, it's a world fight. I think that we will not see Fury and Usyk crossing gloves in the ring despite the announcement of the fight," Porter said.
Earlier, a similar opinion was expressed by former world champion in two weight categories Paul Malignaggi. Former European Boxing Union (EBU) champion Spencer Oliver predicted the Ukrainian's defeat in the fight against the Briton.
As a reminder, the media found out that the Usyk-Fury fight will take place before the New Year or in January. In addition, it became known whether a rematch between the Ukrainian and the Briton was planned. Promoter Bob Arum also announced Fury's fee for the upcoming fights.
Former world middleweight champion Carl Froch shared what will happen in the fight between Usyk and "Fat Fury". The Ukrainian also reacted to the fight announcement for the first time. It also became known that the fight between Oleksandr and Tyson is threatened by the court.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Russian fans have started wishing Oleksandr Usyk a defeat against Tyson Fury. The legendary Mike Tyson gave his prediction of the fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton.
The former rival of our champion Mairis Briedis also spoke about the fight. Former Russian champion Dmitry Kudryashov pointed out what Usyk will do in the confrontation.
