Klimas had his say on Usyk vs. Fury
Unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) has signed a contract to fight Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs). Our compatriot hopes to step into the ring against the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, next winter in Saudi Arabia.
The manager of the Ukrainian boxer Egis Klimas wrote about it on his page in the social network Twitter. He said that Usik's team signed an agreement with Skill Challenge Promotions, which organizes the fight between Oleksandr and Tyson.
"Yes, we all want this fight to happen. I want to thank the promotion company Skill Challenge Promotions for their efforts in organizing this fight. I just want the whole world to know: everything is signed and certified by Usyk's team", - Klimas emphasized.
Earlier, Fury's promoter Frank Warren announced that the Briton would not fight Usik in Saudi Arabia this December. This decision by the Gypsy King shocked former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew.
Usyk is scheduled to make his mandatory defense on August 26 against Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs). Saudi Arabia was determined to have Usyk vs. Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) vs. Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) fights on the same night. The media has published the boxers' fees for the big show. That said, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.
