"Everything is made up, instructions are given": Russian Olympic champion accused the IOC of "execution of the Russians"
Mikhail Mamiashvili, the president of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) was indignant about the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to hold additional qualifying tournaments for the Games 2024 for representatives of the Russian Federation. The champion of Olympic Games-88 expressed confidence that thus try to allow as less as possible his compatriots to competitions.
Mamiashvili stated this in his comments to propaganda channel "Match TV". He called the conditions of admission of Russians to international competitions, according to which, in particular, athletes should not support the war in Ukraine, a requirement "to renounce their parents".
"It concerns more those federations which have already passed or are in the process of selection. Unfortunately, we have what we have. In wrestling we have a slightly different situation, in September there will be the World Championship in Serbia, where it will be possible to get a license for admission to the Olympic Games. Naturally, all these instructions are given to the federations from above. They are even asked to disown their parents. The question is that there is nothing of the kind prescribed in any of the statutes or in the IOC charter. Everything is invented for the execution of the Russians," said Mamiashvili.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov called "unacceptable and illegitimate" the criteria for allowing athletes from the aggressor country to international competitions.
