"Definitely. I'll be cheering": famous Putinist wishes Fury to beat Usyk in a rematch
The famous animal trainer Edgard Zapashny, who calls himself a boxing fan, wished Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) to win the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs). The ardent Putinist and Z-patriot also expressed confidence that the British fighter will win for the sake of a trilogy with the Ukrainian.
Zapashny said this in an interview with the propaganda publication Sport-Express. The Kremlin dictator's henchman noted that he also supported Fury in the first fight. At the same time, according to the Russian, the outcome of the boxers' rematch will allegedly be influenced by a "commercial issue."
"I'll definitely watch it, and just like last time, I'll be rooting for Fury. In general, they both have a lot of motivation. Usyk wants to go down in history as an undefeated heavyweight, and Tyson is eager to climb that throne. I want to note that this fight still has a huge commercial issue. For commercial reasons, Fury has to win so that we can see a trilogy. If their fees have already increased significantly for the second fight, then they will skyrocket for the trilogy," Zapashny said.
It should be noted that in recent days, Russia has been actively wishing for Usyk's defeat on December 21. Earlier, well-known promoter Vladimir Khryunov supported Fury. Russian national team coach Eduard Kravtsov also hinted that he wanted to see the British victory. And Olympic champion Oleksiy Tishchenko, speaking about the rematch, "forgot" that a Ukrainian would take part in it.
Over the weekend, an epic promotional video of Usyk and Fury's rematch was released. It has already been called a disgrace to American boxing companies.
It is worth noting that before the rematch, a strange situation occurred when bookmakers lowered the Ukrainian's chances of success. At the same time, experts continue to insist that Usyk will win again. For example, veteran Dereck Chisora noted that Fury has virtually no chance of revenge. And British promoter Ben Shalom simply gave up on Tyson and his ability to beat the Ukrainian.
On October 23, Usyk and Fury had their first duel of looks before the second fight. The Ukrainian appeared in an unusual way, changing his image. In addition, he forced his opponent to take an unusual step to help the Armed Forces. Bookmakers changed the odds for the second fight.
Earlier it became known that Tyson wants to organize a trilogy with Oleksandr to make boxing history. The Briton also accused the Ukrainian of disrupting the timing of the rematch.
In the first fight, Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and unified all the belts of the super-heavyweight division.
Our compatriot also shared his expectations for the second fight with Fury and responded to accusations of cheating during the May 18 fight. In addition, the Ukrainian told what he learned from this fight.
The legendary Volodymyr Klychko shared his expectations for the rematch between Usyk and Fury. And ex-champion Amir Khan disagreed with the forecasts for the fighters' repeat.
In turn, Russian boxing coach Andrei Ivichuk called Tyson the winner of the upcoming rematch with Oleksandr. And the Ukrainian himself named the only boxer he is interested in fighting after the second fight with the Briton.
In addition, Anthony Joshua answered the question of who he would like to see win the rematch between Usyk and Fury. After that, he named the winner of the rematch. Tyson himself voiced his motivation for the second fight against our compatriot.
Fury also responded to Usyk's team representatives when they compared him to dictator Vladimir Putin. The Gypsy King explained why he turned away from the Ukrainian during a duel of the eyes before the first fight.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, former Ukrainian boxing coach Mykhailo Zavyalov said that Tyson Fury would put his career on the line in a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. The Briton himself noted that he does not believe in his victory on points in the second fight with the Ukrainian. In turn, Usyk revealed the details of his preparation for the fight.
In addition, it became known who Oleksandr plans to fight after the fight with Tyson. The legendary Mike Tyson gave his prediction for the fight. The Briton also told what he was thinking in the ninth round of the first fight with Usyk when he was knocked down.
