The two-time Olympic champion gave a controversial interview to local propagandists

Two-time Olympic biathlon champion Dmitry Vasilyev has reacted to the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) recommendation to allow Russia to compete in the 2024 Olympics as a refugee. According to the 60-year-old St. Petersburg native, Russian athletes should not compete at the Games in Paris.

"There will definitely be provocations against our athletes - they will divide them into right and wrong according to their nationality, i.e. all Russians are a priori enemies and murderers. There's no point in going there, and then we'll be subjectively sued, I don't even doubt it. And who will ensure our safety? There will even be terrorist attacks," Vasilyev said in an interview with propagandists from RIA Novosti.

The title-winning biathlete believes that in this way the IOC invites athletes from the Russian Federation "to become Judas".

"For them it's a common thing, the main thing is money, that's why you can betray your mother and everyone else, but we live by biblical principles. We shouldn't tempt fate and then make our security services rescuing our athletes from there because of some accidents," Vasilyev said.

Such words of the two-time Olympic champion (1984 and 1988) caused mockery from Russian fans. He was reminded of what true biblical principles are.

"Judas, terrorist attacks, even if called upon as equals, special services, biblical principles. Some kind of Sharikov speech, really. No more drinks for this table," users note.
