Rubin does not see any air defence gaps

The president of Yalta-based Rubin, Kirill Shaposhnikov, called the temporarily occupied Crimea one of the safest regions of Russia amid fires at Taman and Sevastopol oil depots. The official, despite the "leaky" air defences of the aggressor country, sees no reason for this to prevent the so-called integration of teams from the peninsula into the Russian championship.

Shapashnikov said this in an interview with Sport-Express. He added that Rubin is preparing to join one of the divisions of the Russian championship and is working on organising football matches, and called Russia "our beautiful country".

"Crimea is now one of the most secure and safe regions of our country. Both for the local population and for visitors, such as tourists or holidaymakers. Security during the matches is ensured in accordance with the action plan agreed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The club will do everything possible to make the visit of visiting teams to the peninsula as comfortable as possible. We have a young and ambitious city administration that loves its land and wants the name of Yalta to be heard throughout our beautiful country," the occupier said.

Russia is isolated from world football.
