Famous French track and field athlete Alice Finot provoked a heated discussion on the Internet after she proposed to her boyfriend at the 2024 Olympics. The 33-year-old finished 4th in the 3000km steeplechase (8.52.76), breaking the European record held since 2008 (the medalists were Bahrain, Uganda and Kenya).
After her performance, Fino ran up to the stands where her young man, triathlete Bruno Martinez Bargela, whom she had been dating for nine years, was in the stands.
