Zelenska shows off a manicure for perfect women: what is the "bare nails" trend and how to care for them

Olena Zelenska does not experiment with manicure

This year, the First Lady of Ukraine posted a New Year's greeting with a photo of her and her husband, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She had a nude manicure, also called "bare nails." It is special because it does not require gel or acrylic coating and a trip to a beauty salon, but sometimes it has its exceptions.

It is quite easy to take care of and does not take much time. But still, like any well-groomed nails, even the slightest effort is required. OBOZ.UA decided to tell you what makes a "no manicure" manicure special and how to achieve an elegant look for your nails, like Olena Zelenska's.

First of all, "bare nails" do not require a gel or acrylic coating. This is convenient because it saves a lot of time. In particular, there is no risk of getting burned by an ultraviolet lamp. Therefore, "bare nails" are about health. If the love for gel polish is so strong that it is difficult to give it up, bright colors can be replaced with milky ones, which will be as similar to the natural color as possible.

In particular, "bare nails" are characterized by their short length, which may not appeal to lovers of longer manicures, but you can still take a chance and try not to cut them but add a strengthening agent to your care.

Nutrition is important

A "bare manicure" may seem simple to implement, but the transition from gel to no gel is as difficult as giving up makeup altogether. If you find that your nails are brittle and weak, you should start with a balanced diet and care.

"A balanced diet, as well as increasing your biotin intake, is the best choice for strengthening your nails," nutritionist Byrdie says. Eggs, chicken, salmon, nuts, and sweet potatoes are rich in biotin.

How to do a "no manicure" manicure

Like any manicure, bare nails also need careful maintenance. Byrdie shared a scheme that will make your nails shine. First, you need to use a cuticle softener and push the cuticle back. This procedure is important because a good cuticle is 50% of nail care. The next step is to shape the nails. You can use a glass file as it minimizes chips. If your nails are very weak, you can use a strengthening product. The last step is cuticle oil and hand moisturizer.
