Our compatriot will fight for the historic championship belt
On May 18, WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles holder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) will fight against WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The fight will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Initially, the fight was scheduled for February 17, but the British boxer suffered a serious cut on February 2 during training. As a result, the fight was officially post poned to the spring of 2024.
DAZN sports streaming service is the official broadcaster of the first fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion in the era of four belts. In Ukraine and around the world, the broadcast will be available in PPV (Pay-per-view) format. The cost of a DAZN subscription in Ukraine is UAH 370.
It is not known how much it will cost to watch the fight at the time of publication of this news. However, the press has already published information about the price for US viewers. There, you will have to pay $69.99 for the Usyk-Fury PPV. For new viewers, the bonus will be a free month of subscription to DAZN.
In the United Kingdom, the broadcast is scheduled to be available on TNT Sports and Sky Sports Box Office. All platforms will also operate on a pay-per-view basis. The subscription price for local viewers is £19.95 (~$25). The fee for the Usyk-Fury PPV is still unknown.
In Ukraine, all of Usyk's fights were broadcast by MEGOGO. On February 10, Usyk's promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk, in response to a question on the SportArena YouTube channel about whether MEGOGO would show Usyk-Fury on May 18, responded with a characteristic gesture, folding his hands in prayer.
The head of the General Directorate of Entertainment of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al Al-Sheikh, said that the show on May 18 would take place in any case. The organizer of the boxing evening in Riyadh came up with a rule that will prevent the fight from being disrupted again.
In addition, Turki Al Al-Sheikh noted that Usyk or Tyson will face a $10 million fine if either of them refuses to perform.
