Promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk denied the information that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) suffered a broken jaw in his fight against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). According to the Ukrainian boxer's representative, the Arabian doctor insisted on urgent hospitalization of the Ukrainian.
Krasiuk said this in an interview with the Boxing King Media YouTube channel. The promoter added that Usyk didn't want to miss the press conference after his victory over Tyson and visited the hospital after the press conference. The examination did not reveal any serious injuries.

According to the doctor, this is a very sensitive area and anything is possible. And Usyk had to be examined as soon as possible. But after a fight, a boxer has a lot to do - take a doping test, talk to the press, etc. We told Usyk that he had to skip the press conference because the doctor insisted on hospitalization, and the ambulance had already arrived. But Usyk said he had to fulfill his obligations. It's not a serious injury, just discomfort. After the press conference, we visited the hospital. He was examined and told that he would be fine in a week," said Krasiuk.

Usyk defeated Fury by split decision – 115:112, 113:114, 114:113. After the fight, the British fighter called the war in Ukraine one of the reasons for his defeat. Tyson also expressed his desire to visit Ukraine.
At the same time, referee Mark Nelson's decision to score Tyson a knockdown in the ninth round drew criticism from experts. Usyk was hospitalized immediately after the fight.
