Harry Potter fans from all over the world have a great reason to rejoice as Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has officially announced the release of the Harry Potter series. The world will see the first season of the story about the boy who survived in 2026.

Seven seasons are expected in total. Each of them will be an adaptation of a separate book by J.K. Rowling. Zaslav announced this during a teleconference on the company's fourth-quarter earnings, Variety reports.

Zaslav also revealed some details about the filming of the series. In particular, he said that a few weeks ago he met with the management of HBO and Max, Casey Bloys and Channing Dungey, respectively, the head of Warner Bros. Television, as well as Harry Potter's "mother", writer J.K. Rowling.

"We spent some time with J.K. and her team. Both sides are just excited to revive this franchise. Our conversations were great and we were very excited about what lies ahead. We can't wait to share ten years of new stories with Max fans around the world," the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery commented.

The series will be released on the Max streaming service. The team is currently looking for a scriptwriter, and the casting to be announced later.

It is not known whether fans of the legendary franchise will see their favorite actors from the films, including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and others, in the new adaptation.
