The moment that occurred in the 9th round of the fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury caused a storm of excitement on social media. Fans found similarities between the Ukrainian's knockdown and the painting "The Old Man and Death" by artist Joseph Wright.

The work, painted in 1773 by one of the most famous English artists, is located in the Wadsworth Athenaeum Museum in Hartford, Connecticut (USA). Its plot is quite obvious: an old man recoils in horror before a skeleton symbolizing death. The story is taken from Aesop's fable of the same name.

The mirror image of the reproduction completely repeated the screenshot from the Usyk-Fury fight, when the Ukrainian was just short of winning early. The striking resemblance was noticed by ArtButSports user X (formerly Twitter) on his social media account.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on May 18 in Riyadh, Usyk defeated British WBC titleholder Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and became the first ever absolute champion in the super heavyweight division in the four-belt era.

At the moment when ring announcer Michael Buffer shouted "From Ukaine!" in English when announcing the winner, Usyk's legs gave out from excitement.

Oleksandr is the third ever absolute champion in two weight categories. Before that, he held all the titles in cruiserweight.

Later, Usyk showed what his face looked like after 111 missed punches to the head from Fury. Sasha came to the press conference late due to a doctor's appointment.

The next day it became known that Oleksnadr would only remain the absolute champion until June 1, 2024. The International Boxing Federation (IBF) will take away the belt because the mandatory title defense against Filip Hrgovic is overdue.

Later it became known that the judge used a little-known rule in the Usyk-Fury fight.

On May 20, Usyk was suspended from boxing and will not be able to hold any training or fights in the next month and a half. The video that the Ukrainian champion recorded for the whole country showed numerous bruises and bruises on his face.
