Usyk decided to change weight category

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) announced that he intends to change divisions and return to cruiserweight. At the same time, our compatriot did not specify whether this will happen immediately after the rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs), which will take place on December 21.

He said this in an interview with Sky Sports. The Ukrainian super champion noted that he wants to collect all the heavyweight titles again. In addition, Oleksandr emphasized that the second fight against Tyson will be a continuation of the fight on May 18, in which he became stronger by split decision.

"I will win the second fight again. I will try myself again in cruiserweight. I will try to become the absolute champion. I feel good. It will be the 13th round, that's how I feel. Tyson Fury had a chance in the sixth round, maybe in the seventh round in the first fight, maybe in the 12th, 11th, first, second. But Tyson couldn't win. It's just talk. Tyson said he had a chance. No problem. We have a second fight, I'll try," Usyk said.

Last week, the boxers completed preparations for their second fight. Oleksandr arrived in Riyadh, where he was met by his compatriots. For his part, Tyson told how he was going to beat our boxer and close the defeat in May.

On December 1, an epic promotional video of the rematch between Usyk and Fury was released. It has already been called a disgrace to American boxing companies.

On October 23, Usyk and Fury had their first duel of looks before the second fight. The Ukrainian appeared in an unusual way, changing his image. In addition, he forced his opponent to take an unusual step to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Before that, it became known that Tyson wanted to organize a trilogy with Oleksandr to go down in boxing history. The Briton also accused the Ukrainian of disrupting the timing of the rematch.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Tyson Fury spoke insultingly about Oleksandr Usyk and challenged him to a third fight. British journalist Charlotte Daly brought the Ukrainian to tears with a letter from the Armed Forces soldier.
