The women's relay race took place at the Biathlon World Championships, which are currently taking place in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. The Ukrainian team, represented by Iryna Petrenko, Yulia Dzhima, Anastasia Merkushyna and Khrystyna Dmytrenko, finished in the top 5, repeating their best season's performance.

The main sensation was created by Estonia, which kept its chances for a historic medal throughout the relay, eventually finishing 4th.

Ukraine had a great start to the race, firing 11 rounds at two firing lines. Unfortunately, Petrenko was unable to show high speed, losing 23 seconds on the last lap and sending Jim from 10th place into battle with 47.9 seconds.

The second stage was the most sensational. In France, 24-year-old Sophie Chaveau was unable to cope with the pressure, earning her team a penalty both on the bed and on the post. Estonia took the lead by surprise. Jima was able to take advantage of the failure of the main favorites, lifting the Yellow and Blues to 7th place (+42.8).

Anastasia Merkushina missed twice on vault and three times on floor, leaving her far behind France (+1.29.7). Dmytrenko went into the battle 7th. Norway performed poorly at the stage, receiving 2 penalty laps as a result. Estonia continued to make a sensation, securing a foothold in the top three.

Dmytrenko's clean shooting at the first firing line immediately allowed our team to drop two places: from 8th to 6th. The Ukrainian managed to cover all the targets with only 8 rounds in the final shooting, but unlike her competitors, she avoided penalty circles.
