"To all the mothers of Ukraine." Usyk comments on his victory over Fury
The unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) thanked Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) for the rematch that took place in Riyadh. Commenting on the victory by unanimous decision, our compatriot noted that the fairness of the result should not be assessed by him.
Usyk said this in the ring right after the fight, answering a journalist's question. In addition, Oleksandr noted that Fury confirmed his high level throughout the 24 rounds, and our boxer dedicated his victory to all the mothers of Ukraine.
"I won. I'm not a judge, I'm an athlete. Judges have to count. I was well prepared. My wife helped me. This is a special day for me because today my sons won their competitions. Fury is a great boxer. He's a great fighter. It was a great 24 rounds. The best in my career. I want to dedicate this victory to my mother, who has been worried about me for many years. And to all the mothers of Ukraine," Usyk said.
It should be noted that all three judges gave Oleksandr a 116-112 victory over Fury in the rematch. Our compatriot defended the belts of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the World Boxing Association (WBA).
