"They spread a lot of propaganda": Fury criticizes Usyk's team
Frank Warren, the promoter of Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs), has called the accusations of Oleksandr Usyk's (21-0, 14 KOs) team that the British boxer has always avoided fighting the Ukrainian unfounded. The representative of the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, added that the fight was not disrupted through the fault of his client.
Warren said this in an interview with the Daily Mail tabloid. According to him, Usyk and Fury could not meet for various reasons, but they were not because of Tyson. After all, Frank reminded, in September, the boxers signed a contract for a historic fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.
"There was so much nonsense about Tyson not wanting this fight, and Usyk's people were spreading a lot of propaganda that was not true. Tyson signed on for this fight last year, but it didn't take place because the Saudi promoters couldn't provide a venue. It was supposed to be December, Usyk got injured, then February, then April, then we tried to agree in London - we agreed on the terms. Then they were offered to hold the fight in December this year, but they refused and used all the excuses that Tyson was asking for more," Warren said.
Earlier, Fury said he was not interested in the title of absolute world champion. He also issued an ultimatum to Usyk about the upcoming fight, threatening to take him to court. Prior to that, Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) revealed sensational details of Oleksandr's fight against Tyson. In addition, the Briton gave his forecast for the historic confrontation between the Ukrainian and his compatriot.
Meanwhile, Fury's manager Spencer Brown spoke about the secret conversation between Tyson and Oleksandr. The Ukrainian himself commented on the fight against the Briton in an original way, calling his opponent an avatar and questioning one of the terms of the deal.
Oleksandr called Tyson a "pot-bellied hottie " and sent him his regards. The Ukrainian boxer also spoke about the imminent end of his career. And promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk named the condition under which the fight with Fury could be canceled.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, former world champion in two weight categories Timothy Bradley revealed a detail that will make Tyson Fury helpless in a confrontation with Oleksandr Usyk. The Briton himself addressed his rival in one word, answering questions from Ukrainian journalists.
