Fury lost to Usyk
Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and British Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) took tests for the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), which fights against banned substances in boxing and martial arts, immediately after the fight on May 18. As expected, the results were negative.
This was reported by the British edition of The Mirror. The tests did not reveal that Usyk or Fury had taken any illegal drugs. It is also interesting to note that the boxers were regularly tested for doping for seven months before the fight.
Saudi Arabia has already officially announced the date of the second fight between the boxers. The rematch fees for Usyk and Fury were also announced.
Before that, New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) dispelled the main myth about Usyk's weakness. And Russian Oleg Taktarov called the results of the fights between Oleksandr and Tyson fabricated.
Promoter Bob Arum said that he does not consider the Ukrainian to be the strongest boxer in the world. There was also an unexpected twist to the Usyk-Fury rematch. It happened after Croatian Filip Hrgovic (17-1, 14 KOs) lost to British Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs).
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has made a new statement regarding the stripping of the Ukrainian boxer of his world title.
