"The reality is..." Usyk told what he has already won in
Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) expressed confidence that he managed to win the psychological confrontation with Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) on the eve of the fight on February 17. Our compatriot noted that all the chatter of the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, does not affect him.
Usyk said this in a commentary to the iFL TV project, which quotes the Ukrainian on his page on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. The Ukrainian boxer added that he got into the head of his future opponent, making him nervous on the eve of the historic confrontation for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.
"Tyson Fury is a man who talks a lot. His idea is to get inside my head. But the reality is that I have already gotten into his head," Usyk said.
It should be noted that a video of the boxers' meeting was published online, and afterwards the Briton and the Ukrainian shook hands.
A month before the fight, Riyadh unveiled a special belt that would be awarded to the winner of the confrontation. Its appearance caused outrage among fans.
Promoter Eddie Hearn wished our compatriot defeat and called Tyson a "downed pilot". And the bookmakers stopped considering the Briton the obvious favorite of the fight.
