The official decision on the rematch between Usyk and Fury has been made
Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) has activated the option to rematch with absolute champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), the British fighter's promoter Bob Arum has announced. The second fight will take place either at the end of this year or early next year.
"The fight will take place in Riyadh again. This is the contract signed by both fighters. There is a clause about revenge and Tyson used this clause. Let's wait for the rematch. I think there will be a huge interest in it no matter who wins. Personally, I would like to see Tyson win this fight," Arum was quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

On May 18, in Riyadh, Usyk defeated Fury to win the WBA, WBO, IBF, and WBC heavyweight belts. The Ukrainian knocked out the British fighter in the 9th round and became the first absolute champion in the four-belt era.

It is not yet clear whether Fury will be able to fight Usyk for all four belts. On May 19, it became known that Usyk would remain the absolute champion only until June 1, 2024, as the mandatory defense of the IBF title against Filip Hrgovic was overdue.

On May 23, Oleksandr Krasiuk, Oleksandr Usyk's promoter, announced that they would ask for an exception from the IBF so that the Ukrainian would not be stripped of his world title.

On May 25, the manager of mandatory IBF heavyweight title challenger Filip Hrgovich (17-0, 14 KOs), Keith Connolly, said that Oleksandr had a deal with Tyson that said the winner could not keep the IBF belt for a rematch.
The referee scored a standing knockdown for Fury.
